This Privacy Policy explains how TypeEat - AI Calorie Tracker ("TypeEat", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our mobile app and website.

Information We Collect

We may collect account information such as your email address and profile information when you create or use an account. Profile information may include details you provide for nutrition tracking, such as height, weight, age, gender, goals, and preferences.

We collect food and nutrition data that you enter or generate in the app, including food logs, meal descriptions, calories, macros, serving sizes, dates, and related notes.

If you use photo analysis, food images you select or capture may be uploaded and processed to estimate nutrition information. Food images are used to provide the requested analysis and are not intended to be permanently stored by TypeEat.

We may also collect technical information such as device type, operating system, approximate usage activity, crash reports, diagnostic logs, app pages viewed, time and date of use, and time spent in the app.

How We Use Information

• To provide food photo and text analysis.
• To calculate calories, macros, and nutrition summaries.
• To save and sync your food logs, preferences, and account data.
• To manage subscriptions, premium access, restore purchases, and billing status.
• To send notifications you enable, such as reminders.
• To improve app reliability, measure usage, prevent abuse, and fix issues.
• To provide support and respond to questions or deletion requests.

AI Food Analysis

TypeEat uses AI services, including Google Gemini AI, to analyze food text and food images. The information you submit for analysis may be sent to those services to return calorie, macro, and meal estimates. AI analysis can be inaccurate and should be treated as an estimate, not medical advice.

Third-Party Services

We use third-party services to operate, secure, analyze, monetize, and improve TypeEat. These services may process information according to their own privacy policies.

• Clerk for account authentication and user management.
• RevenueCat for subscriptions, premium access, and purchase status.
• Firebase Analytics, Firebase Cloud Messaging, and Firebase services for analytics and notifications.
• Google AdMob and Google Play Services for advertising and platform services.
• Sentry for crash reporting, diagnostics, and app reliability monitoring.
• Google Gemini AI for food text and image analysis.

Advertising and Subscriptions

TypeEat may show ads through Google AdMob. Ad services may use device and advertising information to deliver and measure ads. TypeEat also offers optional auto-renewable subscriptions. Subscription purchases and status are processed through the Apple App Store, Google Play, and RevenueCat.

Data Retention and Account Deletion

We keep account and food log data while your account is active or as needed to provide the app. You can request account and data deletion in the app from Settings > Account > Delete Account & Data, or by visiting https://typeeat.in/account/delete.

When you delete your account, TypeEat deletes app data associated with your account that we control, including food logs, notification tokens, and your TypeEat user record, and requests deletion of your Clerk authentication account. Some records may be retained if required for security, fraud prevention, billing, legal compliance, or by third-party providers under their own policies.

Children's Privacy

TypeEat is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us so we can take appropriate action.

Your Choices

You can choose what food information you enter, whether to upload food images, whether to enable notifications, and whether to subscribe. You can also request support or account deletion using the links below.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date.
